Projections, the peer-reviewed journal of the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning, highlights innovative and critical topics in urban studies and planning research. Each volume is curated by the interests of doctoral student editors and advised by an editorial board of senior scholars. Published annually by MIT Press, Projections has, since 2000, indexed topics at the vanguard of urban studies and planning research.
Projections is made possible with funding and support from Professor Hashim Sarkis, Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning; Professor Chris Zegras, Head of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning; the DUSP Ph.D. Committee faculty; and Professor Delia Duong Ba Wendel, Projections Managing Editor.
Projections is hosted on the PubPub platform with the support of Nick Lindsay, Travis Rich, and Catherine Ahearn of MIT Press.
PubPub, the open source platform supporting JoDS, is designed to socialize the process of knowledge creation by integrating conversation, annotation, and versioning into both short and long-form digital publication. Now in v.4+, PubPub has an extensive feature set that includes support for rich commenting and review, as well as images, video, web embeds, LaTeX math, footnotes, and bibtex citations.
